From Student to Teacher

Ezbit el Nakhl Village, Egypt

Children of Ezbit el Nakhl

Meet a special little girl, Doa'a, who is just 14 years old. She began to participate in the social development classes only four years ago. She is talented and arranged an acting group with other children. They created the needed sketches to explain and simplify the lessons.

Doa’a told us that she gathers the children in the street where she lives to teach them. She also always explains the lessons to her own family. She's very happy to help with activities in our organization, so we gave her a class to teach the children. Doa’a is very happy to be a teacher instead of a student.

Women of Ezbit el Nakhl

In the beginning of the year, we not only concentrated on important lessons and events, but discussed moral issues. This month we talked about bitterness, cooperation, and muscular pain. We offered an entire day of hairdressing for low prices for ladies and ate sugar cane together. It was a special day and the ladies were happy. There were 150 ladies in two groups.

At the end of the day, a woman called Om Mohammed came and told us that she was happy with the day, and though she is of a certain faith, she participates in our celebrations because she loves us from the bottom of her heart. She explained that our presence affected her and the lessons changed her personality. She considers herself one of us. It is beautiful to share the celebrations with each other, knowing that our smiles and love for her and everyone are given without condition or for any profit. Om Mohammed said that she waits for Wednesdays, to leave all her housework and pressures to come to the lessons. She finds true hope with us, which she can't find elsewhere.
