Taking Steps Toward Clean Water

Sulawesi, Indonesia

The Mawa community is making good progress on their ambitious project to bring water to their village in partnership with Global Hope Network International. The first phase is almost complete at the site where the spring structure for drawing up water through a pump is finished.  The next phase will be to build a water storage tank in the village and pipe the water into it from the spring.

The Transformational Community Development (TCD) training team has been working to keep up momentum during this lengthy endeavour by holding routine meetings with the Mawa Committee and the broader community.

Morale is still high and the community is still standing firm in their principle to only receive funds from GHNI when they have raised their portion of each phase by themselves.

The team is encouraged by the community’s initiative in this matter and hopes are high as it is only a matter of months before Mawa has water in their village for the first time!
