Teaching Self-Sustainability

Vocational Training Programme, Jordan

Abia* did a great job with the olive pickling this season. We have ordered 40 kilos of green olives for friends who, after they tasted the olives and knew the story, were very excited to buy them for their families.

Abu Omari* is from Syria. We have been helping and walking with Abu Omari and his family for some time now. Since the beginning of the pandemic, his situation has gotten harder. We have helped with food boxes, as well as buying a refrigerator for him. Since our Transformational Community Development (TCD) concept is to help our families be self-sustainable, we are teaching them about Income Generation. In the meantime, we offered Abu Omari a job in the warehouse and with logistics whenever needed. This way he is productive, works, and generates some income. Abu Omari participated with our workers and volunteers to organise the warehouse and load and upload the items of the shipments we received.

Thank you,

Rami
