Helping with Medical Needs in the Pandemic

Upper Egypt Village Cluster, Egypt

We continued providing some grocery bags to the poor who have lost their jobs. Last week we learnt from a committee in Taha Village about a widow whose daughter is suffering from cancer. The hospital did not admit her due to the coronavirus. It's a very bad situation and difficult emotionally for this family. We visited this woman, provided food, and arranged for a doctor to provide medical assistance.

Coronavirus Awareness

Upper Egypt Village Cluster, Egypt

In Nubian villages, as we endure this hard time, we stopped all of our activities because of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and, as part of our responsibility towards people and the community, we developed educational awareness about the virus in the villages that we work. We taught them how to keep their houses clean and can be done to avoid this virus.

Seeking Help for the Village

Upper Egypt Village Cluster, Egypt

We started working in a new village called Armena. It’s a very poor village, and the people there suffer a lot. We started to do courses for the people to develop their thinking, as they are not well-educated. Some of them have no education at all.

Year-End Celebrating and Giving Thanks

Upper Egypt Village Cluster, Egypt

It has been a very good month. In the village of Adendan, we are going to start an educational series about marriage and choosing your life partner as a sequel of what we learnt in our conference for the families in Hurgada. This time we will do these lectures for the young men and women of the village, and we hope they will apply what they will learn from this course.

Women Addressing Issues

Upper Egypt Village Cluster, Egypt

Toshka is one of the largest villages of the Nubian tribe. We had a vision seminar last month and the women were so excited to start developing their village. They shared the main problems that face them in the community, issues like divorce, female genital mutilation, and unemployment. They have a desire to start women groups.

Couples Benefit from Marriage Classes

Upper Egypt Village Cluster, Egypt

The healthy nutrition classes completely changed the interactions with the children as they improved in attention, making education more effective.

In Adndan, a Nubian village, we did a seminar about marriage and family because Adndan is considered to have a very high percentage of divorce.

Creativity Discovered

Upper Egypt Village Cluster, Egypt

Because of our Saft Al Laban clinic, health awareness has increased significantly in the village. Many misconceptions have changed through the seminars and health awareness sessions by getting new information.

Children in Bany Mazar, despite their extreme poverty, are creative, and this appeared on the day of creativity. Children used local material and resources to create crafts.

TCD Encourages Individual and Community Growth

Upper Egypt Village Cluster, Egypt

The ladies of Adnan love Transformational Community Development (TCD) and are more open to learn. We were very happy that they invited us as a training team to share Nubian food together and talk about more projects which the committee can start in the community.
