Villagers Benefit from “Farm to Table”

Valley of Ali, Afghanistan

Ahmad* is a hardworking man in Yakawlang who plants various vegetables in a “kitchen garden” on our tree farm. He has lots of experience in cultivating gardens. Last year, he made some good money by selling garlic and onions.

Ahmad never buys vegetables from the market. Instead, he eats the vegetables that he planted. He was cooking green beans, spinach, zucchini, and other vegetables. Ahmad noted that the local vegetables are very fresh and tasty.

So, many people have benefited this year from our distribution of seeds, poplar cuttings, and seedlings. When we distribute them, we teach our villagers how to plant and cultivate them. These generate both Food and Income!

Thank you!
