Working Together to Uplift the Community

DG Village*, Nepal

In August, we followed up Transformational Community Development (TCD) classes and encouraged community members about how to survive the challenging time that we are living through. When the coronavirus first hit, people were worried, but our recent talks with them have been positive. We found them encouraged, empowered, and renewed in their strengths so that they may be self-sufficient.

Many of the recent discussions have focused on the coronavirus. I have shared some preventive measures, such as keeping a distance of at least two meters from people in public places, always using sanitiser or washing hands with soap, and using masks, which will all help them to be safe.

Success Story from Ihita

Ihita** is now 49 years old, and is one of our active members. She has a husband and five children. Ihita is from a poor family and has faced many problems in her life, but she got involved with our Income Generation Committee and received seed money from GHNI to buy two young goats. Her goats eventually gave birth, allowing her to earn money. Her family is happy with her job. She says because of TCD she learnt how to create a plan to improve life for herself and her family, and she is very grateful for that.

Thank you!
