Bamyan Women's Center - East

The Village

Opening a women's center in another area in Afghanistan will bring a significant impact on the women of this rural village community and by extension their families and the overall community. Our teams will provide teaching on holistic wellness as well as nutrition, and empowering women to teach other women those same principles. Specifics are continually determined by the women themselves as they evaluate their own prioritized needs. Committees of women determine what projects they will work together to accomplish. Our focus guides them toward education, income generation and “wellness.” These areas have huge impacts on empowering women, impacting their families, and helping them build a strong foundation. We will establish English courses for school-aged girls, as well as adult literacy programs for the women of these villages. As in other women's centers, our team will seek to establish a self-sustaining source of income generation for the women, and again by extension their families, by training and providing a venue for possibly tailoring/embroidery services.

Building strong foundations for families results in ending extreme poverty for generations to come.

Transformational Community Development©

Transformational Community Development (TCD) - This process helps villagers find their own solutions to the five areas keeping them in extreme poverty - clean, accessible water; a renewable, nutritious food source; education for children; wellness habits and regional health concerns; and income generation for families.
