There is water available near the village of Elala, however it needs to be cleaned. The villagers have a nomadic culture as they herd cattle. It is our desire to teach them to grow food for the cattle as well as for themselves, allowing them to stay in one place. The lack of latrines in the village causes disease to many. School attendance is low as most children help with the cattle.
Transformational Community Development (TCD) This process helps villagers find their own solutions to the five areas keeping them in extreme poverty - clean, accessible water; a renewable, nutritious food source; education for children; wellness habits and regional health concerns; and income generation for families.
