There is currently no access to clean water for the villagers of Kito. The community shows a strong desire for change with excellent levels of cooperation. Very few children attend school as it is a far distance from the village and it is not safe for them to travel alone. The villagers need experience in growing fruits and vegetables in order to balance their diet. Wellness habits are minimal and the children have a high disease rate. With lessons and micro-loans the women can help generate income based on their skills.
Transformational Community Development (TCD) This process helps villagers find their own solutions to the five areas keeping them in extreme poverty - clean, accessible water; a renewable, nutritious food source; education for children; wellness habits and regional health concerns; and income generation for families.
