The Village

This cluster of rural villages in the Holy Land holds rich history. This country is sacred to all religions birthed through Abraham. Famed for being the home of one of the 10 lepers who were healed by Jesus of the Christian Bible, these villagers are today suffering from another affliction—extreme poverty.

Poverty here is a result of very high unemployment and refugees pouring into adjacent camps escaping civil wars in the surrounding area. The people in this village cluster are certainly among the hidden and hurting in the world.

Transformational Community Development©

Few employment opportunities, lack of health care, and minimal to no education opportunities for children, 10th Leper Village is in dire need of some help and hope. In early 2014 GHNI leaders met a leader in the community, a Man of Peace, who agreed help us lead this village through Transformational Community Development (TCD). The first step agreed upon was to conduct a health assessment of the villagers to help them determine what their highest priority was for TCD.

The villagers show enthusiasm for the TCD development projects as they pull themselves out of poverty!
