Excelling in Health, Training, and Language
October 7, 2022
At the clinic, 14 patients were seen, treated, and advised in the month of August. They had different issues like high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, bronchitis, anaemia, and vitamin deficiency.
Elinah* is 44 years old, married, and has five daughters and one son. The eldest is 15 years old. She came to the clinic because she was having neck pain. The doctor diagnosed her case as a nervous spasm in the neck. Applying our Transformational Community Development (TCD) methods, the doctor advised her to exercise and eat healthy. Elinah’s husband had an accident, fractured his leg, and had surgery to place screws. Since then, he hasn’t been able to move freely or work much. Their financial situation is difficult.
Taabia* is a 50-year-old single woman. She lives with her parents and three girls. Taabia makes cheese and sells it to generate income. She went to the clinic because she had severe pain in her shoulders. Our doctor advised her to exercise and eat healthy.
The participants in our sewing class were learning about the sewing machine as well as its tools. They learnt how to operate it and fix it in case any small problems took place. They learnt how to mend clothes and sew pillowcases and curtains.
The participants in the mosaic workshop worked on finishing the pieces they had in their hands and then started new ones.
Moreen, the English teacher, taught the students about feelings. She then taught them vocabulary in order for them to express how they felt, in English. Her second lesson covered the family tree, followed by “all about me,” which covered how each student could introduce themselves and talk about their favourite colours, subjects, hobbies, and so on.
Thank you!
