Heart Surgery for a Needy Child

Refugees in Jordan

Iraqi Refugees

This first month of the year, we have distributed food boxes and blankets to some Iraqi families. The COVID-19 crisis has affected many people, especially refugees. We are trying to reach more of the hidden ones and help those who are hopeless as well. We encourage them and share our love. Some of the families who have received help have sent us videos of thanksgiving for helping and supporting them.

Working from Home

Vocational Training Programme, Jordan

We met with a group of Iraqi and Syrian refugees, who came asking for blankets. While receiving their blankets, one of our team chatted with them about their situation and their thoughts. He was wondering and sort of scratching his head to think of how they could make the best of their current situation and develop.

General Clinic

On the 19th of December, our general clinic received 32 patients. Since mid-November, we are only opening the clinic once a week, on Wednesday, at the House of Ruth.

The mobile clinic wasn’t operating for this quarter. Dr Fadi moved all the medicines that were left in the mobile clinic to the clinic of the House of Ruth, in order to use the medications before they reach their expiration date.

Making Room for the Goats

Goat Loan Programme, Jordan

In Mowaqar Village, Um Salim has now four newborn goats and is expecting more newborns in the beginning of the new year. The estimated total of newborn goats will be 15. Um Salim rented land next to her house and made it a barn for the goats because her house is small and the number of goats is increasing.

Thank you!

Medicines and Multivitamins Needed

House of Ruth, Jordan

General Clinic

This month, our doctor has received 31 patients; 7 were Syrians, the rest of the patients were Jordanians from the village of Ma'in. Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Jordan, people are being very worried and concerned, trying to be careful. Therefore, fewer people are coming to the clinic, so our team goes once a week to the centre for the time being.

Teaching Self-Sustainability

Vocational Training Programme, Jordan

Abia* did a great job with the olive pickling this season. We have ordered 40 kilos of green olives for friends who, after they tasted the olives and knew the story, were very excited to buy them for their families.

Christmas Gifts to Iraqi Children

Refugees in Jordan

Iraqi Refugees

We know the circumstances the Iraqi refugees are going through, and also know that they are not allowed to work. With the COVID-19 crisis, the economic situation has become worse. No home visits or big gatherings are allowed. Nevertheless, our GHNI teams and volunteers were able to reach out to the most vulnerable and needy in different ways.
